About Dragmar Tulku

A heart son of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, Dragmar Khentrul Rinpoche was recognized at age six as the authentic incarnation of the 5th Dragmar Tulku by both HH Penor Rinpoche and HH Dudjom Rinpoche. These revered lamas gave him the name Pema Jigme Wangdrag Thutob Gonpo, in that way recognizing him as an heir to Guru Padmasambhava.

Rinpoche has completed the rigorous nine-year course of study at the Ngagyur Nyingma Institute in Bylakuppe, India, and currently teaches both at the Institute and around the world. He is also responsible for the renovation of the Dragmar Wangchen Monastery (established in the 16th century) in Tibet. Dragmar Tulku is praised for his clear and detailed instructions to Dharma students on how to practice.
